RMS Diploma Download & RMS Diploma Addendum Download
Completed in 2015, Kevin Smith gained his Diploma from the Royal Microscopical Society for his work titled 'The Role of Microscopy in the Preparation and Evaluation of Metallographically Prepared Materials'.
We have now made this available as a free download for those interested in looking into this subject in a little more detail. The document is 117 pages long and has numerous figures and data which will help anyone looking at preparing materials in the metallography laboratory. The addendum has been published in a separate document due to file size.
Etchants
After successful preparation, it is essential to use the correct etchant to reveal the necessary structure of the material that has been prepared. We have, therefore, provided some common etchants widely used in our industry.
